It's not about how fast or how far, it's about how running makes you feel.

August 29, 2009 - 12 miles
Ah, the taper. That means run 20 miles, take 6 days off then run 12 miles, right? It doesn't? Well that would explain the horribleness of this run. Actually the first five miles were fine. I ran those in 1:00:33. But the headwind on the way back was horrible and my knees and hips were hurting, a lot. I actually considered walking home. Which, based on my time, I basically did. I finished in 2:30:44. =p
August 22, 2009 - 20 miles
20 miles today. It was pretty uneventful actually.
4:11:09 (~12:33 pace) - Not too bad with 4 hours of sleep, at best.

Wednesday
August 19, 2009 - 8 miles
I ran 8 muggy miles with Danielle and Bethie in 1:32:26.
I was battling a mental block most of the time (and side stitches). I was so glad to have people to run with tonight. I have so much other stuff going on in my life that motivation is at an all time low. Sleep, need sleep.

August 18, 2009 - 5 miles
I ran the one mile-loop at work five time. So the run became more like 5 mile repeats mainly so I could get the gravel out of my shoe.
mile 3: 11:56
mile 4: 12:01
mile 5: 11:32
Total time: 58:55
To summarize:
mile 1: 11:40
mile 2: 11:46mile 3: 11:56
mile 4: 12:01
mile 5: 11:32
Total time: 58:55
Saturday
August 15, 2009 - 14.17 miles
Wow. It was hot and humid. I'm glad I thought to bring cash because I was tearing through my flasks. I stopped at 7-Eleven for water. I think the run went well especially considering the heat/humidity. I had frequent stops for drinkage but I needed it. And I was thankful for the wind and the shade! The sun was killer.
I run with my iPod so I really can't hear what people say/yell/whatever. I think some old guy lowered his shades and said "hi hot stuff". At least that's what I'm telling people. Maybe I should leave the "old" part out...hmm. Anyway, there were also two other times where a guy yelled something...from a moving car. As if, with said iPod, I'm going to hear them as they're driving by me. So I made things up, like "way to go!", "I'm impressed you're running on a hot day", "You're an inspiration!", you know, stuff like that.
I finished with a total of 14.17 miles in 2:56:20

Wednesday
August 12, 2009 - 10 miles
I have been so sleepy this week. Mainly because I've been staying up way too late for much needed heart-to-heart conversations. Plus William keeps getting up in the middle of the night. As a result, I skipped my 5 miles yesterday. But this evening I met Beth to run 10 miles (with an oberweiss stop). We finished in 2:00:55 with Beth not feeling the greatest and me limping. Not a bad time considering! Now for some sleep....
Saturday
August 8, 2009 - 17.83 miles (including a 5K in the middle)
I ran a total of 17.83 miles (oops, miscalculated the 18 miles) in 3 :39:31 with a Feed My Starving Children 5K (34:05) sandwiched in the middle. I made the mistake of kicking in the last of the 5K made the remaining 6 miles a little harder (and slower). While it was pretty humid, I was finished running before the heat (mid-90s)!
